JOURNEY WITH SPIRIT

Are you carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders???

Are you feeling discouraged by things that you have no control over???

No one ever collapsed under the burden of the day.

It is when we add tomorrow’s burdens that the weight is more than we can bear.

As we mature, life becomes more meaningful and fragile.  We understand that

the journey is shortened by days gone by and even if you took excellent care

of the spiritual and physical self, the body will start to show signs of change.

What if…or what will I do if…...becomes your mantra.

But Jesus Christ stands with his scarred hands reaching out to you.

His feet are pierced, and He bears the marks of death.

He says  "I understand and know the pressure you are under.

I understand that you worry. But be encouraged…don't be afraid.

Look at life through My eyes.. Stop letting  life intimidate you. Trust ME."

If you find yourselves so loaded, it is your own doing, not God’s.

He begs you to leave the future to him, and mind the present.
Enjoying life means living in the moment… what is… the  NOW of life.

If God is with you, it does not matter who is against you.

You may have a fight once in a while but you can fight with confidence knowing

that the victory will be yours.

It is sometimes  beyond comprehension, the reality of God's works.

He is no magician, His power is not an illusion. It simply IS.

In every Lenten season I am always drawn to the story of Jesus.

The story of the Cradle to the Cross.

We need Understand a Father's wisdom that could set this all in motion,

a Father who planned the birth of Jesus before family planning existed,  a Father who knew that in creating the world and all within….. there would be sin.  Then Loving a world

so much that He sent His son to the Cross. Not because He loved His son less and the world more, but because He knew the outcome.

A loving Father does not forsake His Son. And if you truly believe, He will never

leave or forsake you.  Yes God sent His Son to the cross, and He listened as His Son

asked why hath thou forsaken me.  This Father knew what His Son did not Know, that the Cross was necessary, but not the end.

We experience our share of crosses on this journey, in church there are hypocrites, at work there are back stabbers, in relationships there is selfishness, greed, and envy,

there are wars being fought by self-less men and women of the military..

 there are roadblocks and obstacles.

But Just as He helped His Son, He is with us each day

to help us overcome our crosses while we are on this earth.

When Jesus gave up the ghost and was buried, the grave could not hold Him.

This is the Power of a Loving Heavenly Father.

There is no greater love than that of the Heavenly  Father for his children.

Are you His child??

Only when you are alert can you recognize the God voice when it speaks to you.

You can be so busy praying to God that you don't give Him time to respond, and when

He does not respond quickly you pray longer and louder.

It is always in the stillness of the moment, that you are most receptive…

and in that stillness He speaks to you.

His words, not mine assures that He hears all prayers,

and if you ever find yourself  doubting, think of your life and how

He made His presence known through acts of kindness and miracles.

We tend to get frustrated sometimes at God's timing,

often we want quick, speedy action to our prayers.

But know that He has infinite wisdom, he knew you before your parents

knew you… and His plan for your life was written before your birth.

Fret not thyself over the small stuff,  God knows your situation before you even kneel to tell Him.

But He likes for you to acknowledge His omnipotence by coming to Him in prayer,

not just when you are in need, but all so when you have been Blessed.

The Creator gave each culture a path to God.  We have been taught that prayer and worship are ways to communicate with God.  But are we limiting our communication with God to Sunday morning  when we sit in church!!!

The Native Indian believes that the Creator is in everything, that everything is alive with the Spirit of God. The water is alive. The trees are alive. The woods are alive. The mountains are alive. The wind is alive. The Great Spirit's breath is in everything and that's why it's alive.  For the Native Indian, being in nature is being in church.  Therefore they live each minute honoring the Creator.

Church is only a building that man built as a place to worship, the 11:00 worship  hour was established by man for his convenience. But God… resides everywhere, when you look at all that He created, you see His presence, if love resides in your heart, then God is in you, where ever there is Love, there too is God for God is Love. And everyday and every hour you can worship Him.

As we approach Thanksgiving, we have much to be thankful for, there may have been challenges that caused pain and sorrow, but you made it and for that you must be thankful.  God did not say that life would be easy, He only promised to be there each step of the way. When mountains seem difficult to climb, when valleys appear to be deserts, when the world seems to have turned its back…. look for Him because He is always near.
