Joy and peace are benefits to you when you "journey with spirit." A "spiritual journey" keeps you connected to the ultimate power source…. God!!! If you have a good connection, you have a direct line to talk to Him.. You will receive God's goodness everyday, and in the darkest of times, you will feel God's goodness shine through the darkness, to guide and comfort you.
The economic times in which we now live are nothing new. Our parents and grand parents spoke of a depression. The year I graduated from college, there was a recession. Armed with a new degree, there were no jobs… but I worked many part time jobs until the job market became whole again.
While each person may face a challenge or dark times on their journey, the world has gifted all people with a period of challenge. Corruption, greed, a fallen world, lewd behavior, disrespect for human life and dis-honor for God the Father and His Son has brought the whole world to a point of challenging times. Just as the Israelites were sent into the wilderness to learn a lesson,the world in which we live has a lesson to learn. Could this be our punishment!! Not living the Ten Commandments alone cast shadows over most of the world. It is not that we do not understand the word, but the world has developed a love of deception. The Bible will answer all of your Why's……
Galatians 6:7-10:7
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. 10As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
God is love, patient and kind.
Do we really want to continue to try Him???
How often do you do the right thing when no one is watching, or there is no public recognition? You just do good because it is the right thing to do.
There are some who seek recognition on earth by doing good by helping others but their heart is not in it. Their act is to glorify themselves. Then you have those who do Good because it is in their spirit to do God's Will. Most of their deeds are unknown because they do not seek human awards or recognition.
Doing good regardless of the reason helps others. But will doing good things for selfish reasons get you into Heaven.
I don't have the answer but I know that God looks at the contents of your heart and character. Throughout the Bible He speaks of a perfect heart and a willing mind. He searches all hearts and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts. God speaks of giving, not grudgingly but with a cheerful heart.
Giving of your time, your offerings and service to mankind and doing good deeds, benefits so many people regardless of your motivations, but doing good without thinking of self and without motive is so much more pleasing to God.

-I pray in Faith, and angels guided by God's loving Will respond to my every prayer-
Dear God.. thank you for giving me a way to communicate directly with you. I know that there are angels organized to guard and protect me. I also know they do it all at the command of Your voice. Bless me always to pray with earnest desire and gratitude.
As you develop a more intimate relationship with God, you will still find that you get caught up in situations that you alone cannot overcome. Having Faith is knowing that you will get through without breaking. You can never have too much Faith. There is never a point in your Faith that you can stop nurturing your spirit. Spiritual growth and development is a lifelong process.
You can never love God too much or praise Him too much or do too much in service to Him. So everyday..Sing His praises through prayer and scripture. Unlike filling your car with gas and getting miles to the gallon, you don't get a certain number of blessings for a good deed, you don't get a line of credit with God simply because you went to church on Sunday or said an extra prayer. His blessings are not bound by your deeds.
You cannot sit on past service expecting a future blessing.
